Zel Technologies, LLC, is being awarded a $7.4M cost plus fixed fee contract to provide research and development efforts relative to understanding oceanographic phenomenon. Specifically, this contract provides for mission support for the US Navy P-3C aircraft by providing specific engineering investigations consisting of Multi-spectral Electromagnetic and Electro-optical Propagation through atmospheric, marine and land environments. Work will be performed in Boulder, Colorado and Fairfax, Virginia with a period of performance from 14 Feb. 2009 to 13 Feb. 2014.
Zel Technologies LLC (ZelTech) is the recipient of a contract award supporting the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) at Patrick Air Force Base, FL. This is a five-year award with a total estimated value of approximately $11.2 M. This contract effectively solidifies ZelTech as a key player in the national Measurement and Signatures Intelligence (MASINT) Research and Development (R&D) environment.
The purpose of this contract is to provide Scientific, Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) to the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Applied Research and Development Division. Engineering support will be provided at on-site locations including Patrick Air Force Base (PAFB), FL; Tampa, FL; and other locations.
Zel Technologies of Hampton, VA and its partners have been awarded a contract to compete for modeling and simulation opportunities coming out of Orlando, FL.
The US Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation included ZelTech among 142 companies eligible to compete for $17.5 billion in contracts over the next 10 years. The contract award and resulting procurements could be very beneficial to ZelTech and its partners consisting of numerous large and small businesses, as well as educational institutions including Old Dominion University's Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center, Norfolk State University and Hampton University. “This award raises the bar by opening up a wide range of opportunities in the growing field of training, simulation and instrumentation … areas that are increasingly important in these times of shrinking budgets,” said Pete Towell, ZelTech’s senior manager in charge of the contract.
Mr. Chuck Mitchell has been promoted to Vice President for Business Development and External Affairs for Zel Technologies, LLC. In this position, he is responsible for overseeing business development, civic outreach, public relations and corporate branding. Mitchell joined the company in 1995 after a 22-year career in the US Air Force. Prior to this promotion, Mitchell was Director of Business Development for the company. In 2008, he also served as Chairman of the Board for the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.
